The Soviet Union, along with its Eastern European allies, formed a military alliance to counter NATO and its Western European allies. It was an obvious attempt to expand Soviet influence and suppress the freedom of Eastern European nations.

USSR: We literally won by aiding a total of 560 million rubles which is about half a billion US dollars. Isn't it embarrassing that we made less effort and yet we won? Such poor military intelligence.
