In this activity, you will demonstrate your understanding of the two different uses of the verb “to be”:

1. Copula : When “to be” connects a subject to a subject complement (noun, adjective, etc.)
   • Example:She is happy.(connects “she” to the adjective “happy”)
   • Example:The cat is my pet.(connects “cat” to the noun phrase “my pet”)
2. Auxiliary : When “to be” helps another verb to form a tense or voice
   • Example:She is running.(helps form present continuous tense)
   • Example:The window was broken.(helps form passive voice)

1. Create a post with TWO sentences:
   • One sentence using “to be” as a copula
   • One sentence using “to be” as an auxiliary verb

2. For each sentence, clearly identify which type it is using the custom fields.

3. Comment on at least TWO other classmates’ posts:
   • Verify if their identification is correct
   • Explain your reasoning
   • Suggest improvements if needed

Remember: Forms of “to be” include am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been.
