<title>The Leverings’ decision was foolish because Karen and Shawn are in the lower class. Therefore, they probably won&#39;t be able to afford the cost of Lady’s surgery. For example Bilger states that, “he recently turned forty and makes twenty-seven thousand dollars a year” (4). Based on this excerpt you can infer that Shawn’s current salary is not enough to spend that kind of money without affecting his well being. Also, the author mentions Mr. Leverings is forty years old; he seems way to old to be dropping half of his salary to possibly save a Lady’s life. He should be saving his money so he can retire earlier rather than later. </title>
