There are only one species of koala in the world. Koala share ancestors with wombats. They are also related to kangaroos, Bandicoots, and possums. 

Koalas first came from the Australian continent. Now they're all over in places like Queensland, new south wales, Victoria, and also south Australia. They say koalas originated 25 million years ago. They left Australia about 100 years ago. Most koalas today are found in Australia still.

A koalas diet consists of leaves and a few other tree species. Its also said that they eat 5 times a day.

They say wombats originated between 55 and 26 million years ago. Most wombats are still found in south Australia today.

They say wombats eat a bunch of kinds of native grasses, roots, and shrubs from trees also. Wombats will spend a total of 3 to 8 hours eating to get their stomach full.

Possums diet consists of worms, insects, dead animals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, bird eggs, berries, fruits, and small mammals.
