Students learn about how coins are made and they will link this process to states of matter-- solids and liquids.

Art
Students will learn about Metal Repousse sculpture.  In Media, students will create their own coin which will be printed onto paper.  In Art, students will create a sculpture of their coin using aluminum metal.

Music
Students compose a song using the familiar melody to "Wheels on the Bus" about pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters. Once the lyrics are written they then use music rhythmic symbols (quarter, beamed eighth notes) over certain words from the song. Students then pick percussive instruments to sing and play their creation.

Media
