One thing I learned is that Atomic Bombs can be famous and infamous. The Trinity Test ( The detonation of the first ever atomic bomb ) created a mushroom cloud 40,000 feet high. In 1982, 1 million people marched in New York City protesting nuclear weapons and urging an end to the Cold War nuclear arms race. The atomic bomb was so devastating that other countries started to develop atomic bombs so they could defend themselves.

Another thing I learned is that Atomic Bombs can be very devastating. The "Little Boy" bomb leveled about 2/3 of Hiroshima, and killed 200,000 people. The "Fat Man" bomb killed about 70,000 people. Around 10 years after the bombing of Hiroshima, there was an increase in thyroid cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer.

The final thing I learned is that the anatomy of an Atomic Bomb is very complex. The uranium isotope needed to make atomic bombs is very hard to find naturally. In fission, the nucleus of an atom is split, either through radioactive decay, or because it has been bombarded by other subatomic particles called neutrinos. There is a 0.7% chance that you will find the right plutonium isotope naturally. (Don't worry about the words in the picture)

In conclusion, the atomic bomb is important because they can be very dangerous, so it is important to be ready for them. I hope you use this info to learn how to prepare for an atomic bomb. This is an important topic because atomic bombs can be very powerful and devastating.
