What's going on?

About ½ struggling to find academic footing, often unable to take risks (ie writing) but not the case outside…

Many dealing with effects of trauma; loss of parent, early childhood abuses, parents suffering from illness, removal from parent custody. 

Anxiety, spectrum behaviours and ADHD.

Huge developmental gaps present in about half but mostly disappears outside.

Lots of typical developers too showing growth over time.

'Gaming is Life' kind of bunch. So, so many video games being played, talked about and re-enacted. Not a ton of genuine experience with loved ones apparent. 

Pretty stable social environment, but clique-y.

Good things are coming out of our weekly Paddy's Pond time; play is constructive, socialization is growing, risks are being taken...

fantastic writing coming out our shared experiences at Paddy's Pond! Really good descriptions, improved writing out of all!

Will use outdoor ed for core competency self-eval too but haven't thought out structure yet...

They never not want to go. All of them. They miss outings if other things come up, they talk about and plan with peers, no one complains and they're getting a handle on how to be 'dressed for the weather'.

Time for me to talk to kids and kids to talk to each other outside the classroom is invaluable.
