For example, the Grimké sister's wanted to speak to the public, however the clergy believed the Grimké sisters should not be able to give public speeches. For example, Sarah Grimké wrote a pamphlet titled "Letters on the Equality of the Sexes and the Condition of Women". She argues for equal education and equal pay for equal work among the sexes. Grimké was never married because she believed she would be more of a slave, rather than a wife to her husband.
Angelina Grimké, Sarah's sister, married an abolitionist, who agreed to let Angelina not obey his demands. 
Another example is Margaret Fuller's "Woman in the Nineteenth Century". She expressed the roles of women by using well-known sayings. One of her main messages was the idea of individualism to everyone.

Her name, sojourner comes from her want to spread woman's rights movements across the country and travel, although her real name is Isabella Baumfree. She was born into slavery, and therefore was never properly educated, but was still a very strong and fluent speaker. They wanted to attend the World’s Anti-Slavery Convention in Lon- don, England, but had to stand behind a curtain in the back. In protest the founder of the Anti-Slavery Society, William Lloyd Garrison, sat with them. So these two women in response made the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first public meeting to discuss women 's rights. As the name describes, the outline was the Declaration of Independence, but for women. It was signed by 100 people, such as Charlotte Woodward, who had to work in poor conditions with poor money and still have to give her salary to her father. This was signed at the convention and many abolitionist, people who wanted to rid of slavery, attended and signed like Fredrick Douglas. Another crucial speaker was Susan B. Anthony who brought a sense of organization to the movement. Anthony fought for equal pay and the right to work the typical male professions. She also focused on the issue of women's property and control of money. This led to a campaign chains the rights of women's property. She collected 6,000 signatures to further the campaign. From this, New York granted married women ownership of their wages, and states in Northeast and Midwest  followed. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was one of the main writers for the Women's Rights Movement, while Susan B. Anthony presented the speeches. Anthony also was an important leader in the creation of the National Women Suffrage Association, though this seen as a radical group because they gave the impression that slave rights were not more important that's Women's Rights (Both arguments and movements were of equal degree and neither issue was more important). Though some of these issues were solved, others were not as easily solved, such as women's right to vote.
