The work of art is representing to races in one person. There are  most biracial kids in America than there used to be. The corresponds to my concentration topic because, biracial children can feel criticized by both races for not being good enough for either.
2.  How do you want viewers to look at and respond to your work? I want people to realize that we may look a certain way but we are made up of different cultures not just one thing.
3.  What did you specifically do in your art to influence the viewers to do as you mentioned above? I made the two girls in my art work split in half leaving one side in color and leaving the other black symbolizing the cultures others may not know about.
4.  How does your piece of art reflect your personal voice or style?  Be specific with examples. I am part of a biracial family and I've experienced not feeling like I fit into one race or the other before. People will assume what I am culturally before actually meeting my family.
5. During this project, when did you step back to evaluate or take a second look at your work?  What did you think and or do as a result? Right before I started putting color into the piece I had to think about how opacque I really wanted the color to be or if I was going to use Prismacolors (I ended up using acrylic paint). 
6.  How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you worked?  I asked Mrs. McDavitt for help when I needed.

What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure? I feel its a success because this was the second time I had used charcol and it to my surprise came out cleaner and easier than I thought it would. Normally I don't like drawing on bigger papers but I think the grid really helped.

Explain what theme you chose and how you applied it to your work. Community, I did a drawing of a human. 
2. How did you apply your surreal device? I put flowers in her face to represent the word i was given, juxtaposition.
3. What were some challenges you had during this process?
I had trouble mixing the colors and them running together. 
4.  How did you address your challenges? I asked for help to make specific colors and waited a little bit for the layers to dry.
5.  Overall, how do you think your work turned out?  Be specific in your answer, providing example/s from your piece. 
I think it turned out nicely my favorite part of it was the eyes and hair because i put alot of detail in it.
6.  What skills did you discover and/or develop during this process? I discovered that I do like painting and i think indid improve my skills because I normally stick to drawing.
