Anytime I visit a place with an expansive view like this image, I feel like I have another perspective on my life and on the Earth that takes my breath away at how powerful nature can be. I feel like I am able to channel into God's peace without any other distractions. The message that "God is Everything" really shines through with your drawings around the writing. Peace, love, kindness, and power are all shown through this and it creates a clear image of what you wanted to convey. As a part of our relationship, I should always feel like I am able to rely on God through every aspect of my life. If I reworded this quote using my own interpretation and imagination, I would say:
"The compatibility of my own relationship with God and the Church exists because I am able to feel fully reliant on Him and the members of my Catholic community."
I feel this because I think that the term "essence of religion" applies to my identity as a Catholic and a member of God's Church. As a young Catholic, I always found it hard to believe in someone so large and powerful who I could not actually see in person. The idea that God is this wonderful being awaiting my arrival in Heaven would often stump me since I felt like there was never tangible evidence that He truly existed. In a similar way, if someone told me there was such thing as a flying giraffe, I would never believe them until I saw it myself! I am using this analogy to explain my experience with understanding that I am able to find God in other ways than just seeing him as a real being in front of me on Earth. As I have grown, I have realized that God is truly in everything and everyone around me and that He watches over me every day. I fully understood this feeling of dependence on a rainy day in November about five years ago when I heard that my uncle had been in a terrible car crash and was being flown to a trauma hospital in Baltimore. I prayed and prayed that God would keep him alive and help him recover from this disaster. Now, five years after, my uncle is fully recovered from his neck, leg, and head injuries. Every time I watch him coach my little cousin's football team or help my grandparents move heavy furniture, I remember how lucky we are to have a God so powerful and loving who we can rely on in the worst of times. These experiences are how I find God and feel my relationship with him grow since I know he watches over everyone and is always here to help.
