The "Yams" on "pimp to a butterfly" symbolizes black power and the power to be and the symbolism in this song is representative and it mainly talk about how many of them "white people" whant to cut black peoples legs (their freedom) for them to dont escape. Another examples of symbolisms in this album are sharing bars, ghostwriter, bum etc.

Kendrick Lamar didnt just referend to the "walls" as a piece of concrete, He makes use of "walls" for different situations such as the vagina and to the jail and being stucked somewhere you can scape (comunism and racism.) Kendrick shows us this when starting the song "I love it when I'm in it, I love it when I'm in it (Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)" making references to sex and "Walls tellin' me they full of pain, resentment, Need someone to live in 'em just to relieve tension" making reference to how he cant scape of somewhere.

Kunta Kinte

Kendrick Lamar makes reference to kunta kinte when doing the song and this is because "kunta" was a real case shown in the novel "roots" that was a black skined person who suffer from slavery and racism back in the time and got is leg cut off. Kendrick does this representation because it he made a connection with kunta because since he was a little boy he used to be a slave. In the song "king kunta" Kendrick makes a direct reference to him when saying "King Kunta, everybody wanna cut the legs off him, Kunta, black man taking no losses " refering to the indifferences and injustices he used to go through.
