When he began a strike in May 1740, he failed- They settled in GA to do this, so they could get a central area to attack from but they failed. EVIDENCE: As stated, in May of 1740, Oglethorpe led an attack in Florida to attempt to seize St. Augustine once and for all which would leave the Spanish with a slim chance at victory. This ended with Oglethorpe losing and retreating which defeats the point of colonizing GA. FAILURE

Another reason the trustees ideologies were failing is because of their rule of no slavery. Even though slavery was considered immoral many citizens of GA specifically the malcontents complained about how the other states were more successful because of their using of slavery. People rebelled against the trustees because their wants were not met, which was handled through force and control, which shows that they didn't care about people like they promised. Because these people were angry that they couldn't do these things, they stopped working. When nobody works, nothing productive happens, the economy crashes, meaning Georgia cannot do anything as a colony. This is why the Georgia Colony was a failure overall.

The highland scots were able to fend of the Spanish in the Battle of the Bloody Marsh. But philanthropy and Economics failed. On the subject of philanthropy, many of the colonist died from disease when arriving at Georgia. The trustees also prohibited many religions showing they did not give charity for all. Concerning economics, the workers were relatively unproductive leading to an economic decline.
