He spoke of people who think they can do bad things for “good” reasons and still get away with them and avoid hell. This is simply not the case, and all the people the porter spoke of, and the Macbeths need to watch out for the consequences of their actions.

Macbeth panics knowing that Banquo is the only other person who knows he had motive to murder Duncan.
