The Good Values Award (GVA) recognises deserving students who have demonstrated at least one of the school's core values. (Consistency)

I nominate Jeremy Chang for the value of integrity. During Sports Day, Jeremy was leading the 100m race when he noticed another runner's number tag had fallen on the track. Despite being mere metres from victory, he stopped, retrieved the tag, and handed it to a teacher before resuming the race. This action cost him first place, but he finished the race without regret.

I nominate Ayden Lim for the value of responsibility. As our soccer captain, he is always the first to arrive and last to leave. Ayden organises our kits and even helps the coach to train the other players. He never misses homework despite his busy schedule. Ayden's dedication inspires the other team members to be more responsible.

Respect: John displays the value of respect by reminding his friends to show respect in class. Once, John reminded his group mates to be polite to a shy student and stood up for this student when his classmates were disrespectful to him. Despite being put down by his group mates for stepping in, John respectfully told them that it was wrong and everyone should show respect to everyone in the group.   

Responsibility: Si Ern also displays the value of responsibility towards her classmates and teachers. Even though she is not the subject representative, Si Ern will take the initiative to give out books to classmates and help the teacher whenever she can. Without needing the teachers to prompt, she also helps to arrange and check that the bulky tables at the needlework room are well-aligned and in a conducive state for learning.

Integrity: Ganesh is a student who demonstrates the value of integrity in his everyday actions. Last month, some students found a wallet outside the classroom. After discovering that it belonged to a teacher, the students were interested in its contents. Ganesh stood up to them and recovered the wallet, before returning it to the General Office. He even went the extra mile to inform the teacher and asked if anything was missing, as some students had been playing with it. Ganesh’s efforts to do the right thing display how he is a person of integrity.   

Care: John is a student who often displays the value of care. Last month, he realized that one of the cleaners had difficulty clearing the rubbish bin. Whenever he spotted the cleaner during recess or after school, John would generously offer his help, and has continued to do so over the past few weeks. He even roped in his classmates to support him. John is indeed deserving of the Values Award.   

Grit: Ethan has demonstrated the value of grit. He was part of the AV team that played a pivotal role in filming and recording the emcees for Commendation Day. Despite the changes to the recording venue due to inclement weather (and hence the tedious setting up of recording equipment), the team displayed responsibility and grit in executing their task with precision and professionalism.

Veronica embodies the values of respect, responsibility, and grit in her daily conduct and leadership within the class. Her actions consistently reflect her commitment to fostering a respectful and harmonious classroom environment, where both teachers and students feel valued. One of the ways Veronica demonstrates respect is through her interactions with teachers. She always addresses them with politeness and ensures that her classmates follow suit, setting an example of how to communicate respectfully. For instance, during lessons, if a teacher is speaking and her peers are distracted, Veronica gently but firmly reminds them to pay attention. Her consistent efforts in reinforcing classroom decorum make her a role model among her peers.

Veronica's sense of responsibility is particularly evident in how she handles situations when teachers are absent. On several occasions when no teacher was present, she took the initiative to maintain order in the classroom. Instead of allowing chaos or distraction to take over, Veronica organised the class, ensuring that her peers remained on task, whether it was completing assignments, preparing for upcoming lessons, or reading quietly. She also regularly accounts for the class's attendance, keeping track of who is absent and making sure teachers are informed of any important details, such as why a particular student might be missing. Her proactive approach shows her deep sense of accountability for her classmates' well-being and their participation in school.

Moreover, Veronica has displayed remarkable grit by standing up for what is right, even when it may not be the easiest choice. In situations where some of her classmates were involved in misbehaviour or actions that disrupted the learning environment, Veronica was not afraid to inform the teachers. For example, when a group of students were disruptive during lessons, Veronica tactfully brought it to the teacher's attention, ensuring that corrective action could be taken. Her willingness to address such issues, even at the risk of facing peer disapproval, reflects her strong character and determination to uphold the integrity of the class.

Throughout the entire academic year, Veronica has also taken it upon herself to monitor the whereabouts and status of her classmates, making sure everyone is accounted for during attendance checks. If a student was absent for several days, Veronica often reached out to the individual or notified the teacher to express concern, ensuring that no one was left behind or forgotten. Veronica's actions throughout the year have consistently shown her commitment to upholding the values of respect, responsibility, and grit. Her leadership has helped create a classroom atmosphere where discipline, respect, and accountability are valued, benefiting both her classmates and the overall learning environment. Through her steadfast efforts, she has not only earned the trust of her teachers but also the admiration of her peers, proving herself to be a true leader in the class.

I want to choose Liam as he is always there for you if you are upset, he erespects the teacher by listening to them and knows what is right and wrong without anyone telling him. He helps me with homework and motivates me alot.

For Siting: She had shown the school value of care and respect. During my worst time in the term where my results were a complete disaster and I was so discouraged from my results, she had comforted me and also encouraging me to do well for term 2. She did not say anything disrespectful as well, I was encouraged from her a lot and I feel so much better afterwards---hence she had shown care and respect from her actions.

For Kaiyi: She had shown grit for working very hard since term 1 in her studies, from what I saw from her work, it is filled with the evidence of her efforts. Kaiyi, continue up the good work! (also to mention that she had also checked on me during my worst time in this term so in conclusion she had shown care and grit)

For Mazneen: I understand that her transaction from a G2 student to a G3 student is tough, but in her work she had shown that she paid in much efforts for her studies! Mazneen, you can do it! (she had shown grit)

For Aston: He had shown responsibility as a 2-2 student, he had cleaned up the classroom when no one are doing it, which shows that he really care for his class! Thank you so much for your contribution to our class! (he had shown care and responsibility)

Wayne has demonstrated outstanding amounts for grit in physical education. He is a fearless leader that never backs down and cares for his teammates. He encourages people and is really sociable and could work with almost anyone, i feel like he has demonstrated grit far more than anyone and thus i nominate him .

Wayne is a caring and passionate boy that knows what's best for his classmates. He always lends a helping hand to those who need and just generally has a good morality.

She displays the value for care as she looks out for her peers from time to time, and checks in oh her peers. She cares for her peers unknowingly. Many at times, when she notices something amiss with her peers and people around her, she will take the initiative to ask her peers if they are feeling well and if they are okay. She's always around her peers, supporting them unknowingly. Although the words she say are less, they mean a lot of value to someone. Her sense of care has always brighten up my day.

She had shown respect and care in different time that I nearly breakdown just because of my results did not meet my expectation. I would like to nominate Clara. She displayed the value of care as when i was feeling down and sad , she comforted me and showed concern for me . She also displayed the value of integrity as she would help students in need when needed .

Rajana is a person who always shows good values in her daily life. One of the values she shows is kindness. She is always ready to help her classmates when they need support, whether it is in schoolwork or personal matters. Her helpful nature makes people trust her and feel cared for.

Rajana also shows respect. She respects her teachers by paying attention in class and following their advice. She respects her friends too, by listening to their opinions and treating everyone equally. This makes her a good friend to have.

Another value Rajana has is responsibility. She does her homework on time, takes care of her belongings, and even encourages her friends to stay disciplined. Her responsible attitude makes her a role model in class.

Lastly, Rajana is honest. She does not lie or cheat, and this makes people believe in her words. Honesty is one of the reasons why her friends and teachers trust her.

In conclusion, Rajana shows good values through her kindness, respect, responsibility, and honesty. These qualities make her a positive influence on the people around her.

The other time I overheard him saying he is going to give 'free tuition' to Mason as he went out the door and Ms Wee tried to fix his statement as 'helping Mason out' something like that.
