Many things can make one vulnerable to identify theft. This can include purchasing items online from unreliable sources. The company that I purchased the items from could have asked for my credit card or other financial information through email, could have not had a privacy policy, and was not secure (page 8).

There are many ways to protect your information and protect yourself from being a victim of identity theft. One of the ways to do this is to be alert to impersonators (page 9). Be aware of who you are giving your information to and make sure that they are trusted people or companies that will keep your information safe and secure. Another way to protect yourself is to safely dispose of your personal information (page 9). This includes deleting all the information off of your devices, and transferring it to another device. Other ways include encrypting your date, keeping passwords privates, and not oversharing on social media.
