GIVE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT THE POSSIBLE CAUSES OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE IS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS AND PREVENTATIONS TO THE PROBLEM

Many people don't even realize the harm they cause themselves through substance abuse, this could be because they are not educated on the dangers of substance abuse. People also don't have any moral compass and lack true role models in their life. Mental health issues like depression leads to people doing almost anything to fit in or chase that feel good high. Substance abuse is seen as a way for people to forget about their life problems and escape the mental state they are in. Instead of trying to escape and forget our problems we should be encouraged to confront and deal with problems we have in life. We should also not alienate people who are addicted to nefarious substances but encourage and assist them to change for the better.

Educate youth about substance abuse

On my own perspective people need to be educated at a younger age about use of drugs. They need to be told the history behind substance abuse and must be told real life stories of people who used drugs and and their experiences. Peer pressure plays part in this issue of substance abuse more specially young individuals feel pressured by their peers to use drugs and drink alcohol in order to "fit in" so they do as pleases. I think the only way to stop and even prevent substance abuse is to start educating young citizens.

Substance abuse is truly one of the worse types of abuse out there. Many people do not fully understand the lengths one goes through with substance abuse.
It begins from young already when many youth are not properly educated on it. It is simply just said that we should stay away from it but in reality people need to understand that when you tell a child not to touch something, they are definitely going to touch it, for what? For the experience. And just that one experience can lead to a total disaster. Many feel that the substance can be an escape from reality which in actual fact it only takes you away temporarily. That is why it's so addictive.
Mental issues are also not taken very seriously and not getting the proper help can lead to the person using any toxins. This is not only unhealthy but it destroys ones mental health more than what it began with.
I do think that if more people were properly educated on this topic and and not just told to "stay away from it" there would be a better outcome.

I feel that it all start from your up bringing. If you were brought up with alcohol in your home that was being misused then it would seem like it is normal. Or it could start with your peers and who they influence you to drink.

Substance abuse like everything else comes with a choice, and all it takes is for one slip-up and you're "hooked"...

It only takes one horrible experience (whether it be emotional, mental or physical) and looking for something to alleviate that pain to throw away the life you've built up until then.. You might not see it immediately but it's definitely the beginning of the ending for most.
It starts with a sip of alcohol or just a quick puff of a cigarette and when you feel like it's not working you take another puff and another sip which then leads to bigger things and you find yourself looking for something extra, something that will have a faster effect and that's where the problem lies..
You don't just wake up one day and decide to succumb to substance abuse it's literally something that you're mental state forces you into, and it's not like you're not well educated enough to know the dangers/consequences of substance abuse or any abuse for that matter. Yes I'm sure there's more we can do to educate our young but the education should really start from within, if we try our best to not make the lives of others difficult in any way I'm sure we can prevent the use of substance abuse we just have to be aware of these kinds of things because if we aren't and we miss the signs that could be the end of someone's life before it has even began.
Always be mindful in everything that you do and if you see someone struggling don't try and preach to them because that's not what they might need, all they need is an ear and no sense of judgement as that judgement could push them far over the edge..

I might be wrong but that's just my opinion on the matter.

Many ppl use substances for many different reasons. Some use them for fun, others because of peer pressure ,others for cultural reasons. But for whatever the reason may be ,there should be control over it. Over using substances is harmful to one's body and to the ppl around him/her. They don't realise this up until it's too late and they have done maximum damage. I myself had to learn the hard way that alcohol is not for the weak🤣🤣🤣🤣. But no matter the wether ,I learnt if anyways and I'm glad I did at a very young age. I just hope nothing ,not even stress drives me back to that thing. I really don't wish to go back ,but peer pressure and stress ,are really doing it for me😢

Topic is straight forward. Yes people always tend to do drugs to forget about their problems they have. They feel like it's a kinda escape for them.
But actually they breaking down their bones andbrains. It's tough to see people actaully doing this because we can't judge people for their doings also but we didn't walk their shoes and life gets tough at times but always try to avoid those and you should be fine.

majority of people who are using drugs are coming from toxic relationships, abusive marriages, abusive home, suffer from anxiety and depression they are all using these as their pain escape but can you blame them ?we are living in a small world with lot of people who destroy us in the name of love. Most of them are victims but they are always seen as those who don't have future the problem is we as the citizens we care to charge not to question first and get to the bottom of the reason being using drugs. Those people need help not being charged they are not to be blamed for their action but to be supported

I think we can all agree that education on the topic is of utmost importance. The question is: who should the education come from?

To go with their immediate surroundings, there are many platforms where children can be exposed it. This makes it harder for parents/guardians to clamp down on it.

I say we use the technology available to us and, instead of exposure then to the use and abuse of substances, use it to educate them.
