This term proved to be quite fruitful as we engaged with the book **Coraline**. In addition to reading the text, we also developed skills in analyzing its structure by dividing the book into distinct parts. Some sections were particularly intriguing, featuring elements that were both frightening and surprising, especially with the unexpected twists throughout the narrative. I achieved a Secure grade for Term 1, with a CAT4 target set at a minimum of Developing. My Attitude Towards Learning (ATL) rating is a 1.

Science

During this term, we engaged in a series of stimulating experiments that enhanced our understanding of various scientific concepts. In biology, we focused on the study of cells and organisms, while in physics, we explored the states of matter and the principles of forces. I am pleased to report that I achieved a Mastery in Science, which is the highest level of accomplishment, while my CAT4 target remains at Secure.

Mathematics

This term in mathematics has been productive, particularly with our focus on algebra and angles. I have come to realize that there is still a significant amount of material I have yet to explore. I also received positive feedback regarding my collaborative work with my classmate, which has enhanced my learning experience. My performance this term resulted in a grade of Secure+, aligning with my target. Additionally, my Attitude Towards Learning (ATL) has been rated as 1.

Basketball

Basketball, which is held every Friday morning, is one of my favorite activities in my triple EEE program. Most of my friends participate as well, making it even more enjoyable. Playing against other teams is particularly interesting, as it allows us to learn about their techniques. I believe I am improving in basketball, and I appreciate that we can have fun while playing the sport.

Sustainable Fashion and textiles

Sustainable Fashion and Textiles focuses on creating clothing and outfits from plastic and other recyclable materials, such as cans, scrap paper, or newspapers. We have a great time during this process. First, we design our clothes, and then the teacher selects the best designs to be combined into a dress or outfit. Finally, when we have decided, we construct the outfit using trash and plastic.

Super Science club

Super science club, is all about carrying out experiments. For example; once we made the elephant toothpaste, then another day we made ice cream with stuff that we can find easily at home. I remember when we made the ice cream we used thick cream, milk, sugar, and a favorite type of flavors which were pineapple and vanilla, which poured in a small zipbag. Then, we got a bigger zip bag in which we put ice cubes and some salt. Then we had to shake it. After all that it was ready. Then all we did was, pour our ice cream into a cup to take home. Mine was pink and the flavor was vanilla with a hint of salt.

WISMUN

WISMUN is a nice club but most of the days we either don't have it or our chair is absent.

So in the club, we get a rationed time in which we have to write about a country on a specific topic. So for example, if my country is Finland and I have to write about the topic "How well are the economics of the country growing?" then I have to write an opening speech for debate. Then the other club members ask poy or poi and we have to answer it or respond in a chit form on a piece of paper.

Wellbeing wednesday

Every Wednesday, we start our day with Upstrive in the morning. In the afternoon, our wellbeing leaders for each class present on a weekly topic or lead an activity related to wellbeing. Last time, we created stress balls using balloons, and we could fill them with any material of our choice.

Middle School Awards

I have made progress in both reading and sustainability. I have enjoyed reading a few books, including "Heaven Official's Blessing," and "Dork Diaries,". Regarding sustainability, I joined a club and sometimes I gather some pieces of scrap wood from Design Technology 2 to create colorful projects with different kinds of Colours and pens with give a touch of personality to the individual pieces of artwork.

I love the book Heaven Official’s Blessing. Since the book itself is a Chinese novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. In the book, the main character is a crown prince who wants to become heaven’s servant or maybe even a deity because in the olden days in China(in the book), the emperor or the crown prince was worshiped by the commoners in their town. But the crown prince always gets into trouble. So he can’t become a deity or an official in heaven.

Additionally, there is also a series based on the book available on Netflix.

My NGRT SAT score and Target

My NGRT SAT score for reading this term was 112. My target is at least 213 -215 for the NGRT SAT next time. I have learned the word Coherent which means logical and clear. I am currently reading Heaven Official's Blessing.

Drama

Drama is one of the most enjoyable subjects I have ever taken. During our first lesson, we played quite entertaining games, especially since my friends were there as well. It made the experience even better, and we had a great time presenting our mimes. We also learned about different types of mimes.

Design and Technology

The Design and Technology lesson was enjoyable as we built land yachts. First, we sketched our land yachts on paper. We also designed our sails, which we then cut out to attach to our pieces of wood. Once everything was ready, our land yachts were complete.

Robotics

Robotics is a lot of fun! While I'm engaged in it right now, I don’t have much more to add except that it's enjoyable. I sometimes get help from my friends, and I also assist them when they need it. We learn how to code our robots and build our creations as well. Currently, we have a project focused on creating a robot that will help keep our café clean. Before starting our lessons, we often play games like Blooket or Gimkit, and we also take breaks in between to relax.

French

I chose French for my language lessons because I had studied a little bit of it in my old school, and I know very few words. Although we sometimes write a lot, we also play games and use resources like Thisisschool or Languagenut to help us memorize. It’s fun because I love learning new languages, and French is one of my favorites.

Arabic

Arabic is one of the subjects I don't particularly enjoy because I find it challenging. However, I do like learning it because of my teacher and my friends. We often do activities together, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Even though we have classes in different rooms each time, it is still a lot of fun.
