This reading provides a number of ways that engagement can be enhanced within the classroom and the benefits it has on students progress. Engaged reading has shown that students have read more within school and outside of school for much more time. Students are more likely to discuss their book with family members, teachers, and peers than they were prior and I think this connects to all aspects of literacy. As I mentioned in my second post, most students have no idea why they read other than the fact that it is required.
