Qasar (Shortening Prayers)</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Definition:</p><p>Qasar means shortening 4-rak‘ah prayers to 2 rak‘ah.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>When Allowed:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p>While traveling (must be at least ~90 km away)</p></li><li><p>As long as the stay is less than 4 days</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Which Prayers Are Shortened:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Zuhur, Asr, Isha → from 4 to 2 rak‘ah</p></li><li><p>Maghrib (3) and Fajr (2) stay the same</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>3. Salah During Illness or Disability</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Islam provides many allowances so that prayer is never missed.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>If you cannot stand:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Pray while sitting (on a chair or floor)</p><p><br></p></li></ul><p><strong>If you cannot sit:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Pray lying down, using head/eye movement for ruku’ and sujood</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>If unable to move at all:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li><p>Pray in your heart, with niyyah and dhikr—still rewarded</p></li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>
