We have sent out connect eds and parent square messages stressing the importance of attendance. Our ML teachers hosted an ACCESS night last week before ACCESS testing started.

I tell parents that teachers can use the results to improve the teaching method, or see where is the level of the student in specific subjects.

we can provide a description of what types of tests are coming, what parents can do to prep and where to go for help, especially if English isn't their first language.

I work with the school social worker, and the counselors, to help student and parents to understand such process.

I have collaborated with our ML teachers to host an ACCESS Night with our families. I have also used my registrar and counselors as a resource with attendance to make sure our kids our getting to school. Once we are halfway through the MVPAs, my 3-5 facilitator will be pulling a list of kids who have not yet taken the MVPAs (because of attendance) and we will be sending a connect ed specifically telling parents the severity of sending their kids to school

How I collaborate with the ML teachers to identify areas of support.

I meet with the ML teacher once a month to update a shared google excel sheet that keeps track of student progress and teacher support follow up.

Highlighted Problems we identified & are working to resolve:

We could see what teachers where not using scaffolded material or needed further training in ML curriculum/ classroom support.
We could identify the personal growth of students
We could report more accurately to parents what their child is doing in class.

We have many parents walk in/call the school for information. Our Monthly Principal Breakfast have been very successful and we use that time to talk about the importance of upcoming tests and events.
