Deadline for expressing an interest is 27th October. Once the candidates are submitted, we will open a voting form where student representatives will be able to cast a vote for the preferred candidate.

USIC, Study Group and the University of Sheffield attach a great amount of value to student voice. We are very keen to include students in the key governing bodies and committees to ensure that our students' experience and expectations are heard and addressed. There are four committees for which we would like to elect four IFY student representatives to join the already elected PMP students.

- Quality Assurance and Enhancement Committee (QAEC) - oversees all academic activity and assures the maintenance of academic standards; and to assure and enhance the quality of learning opportunities available to students

- Academic Management Board - is a joint board between USIC and TuOS that oversees arrangements to support the student experience and transition from USIC to the University

- Curriculum Board - is part of the UISC quality cycle and is a forum to evaluate the annual academic performance of subject modules, through student performance data and student feedback.  The Curriculum Board offers the opportunity of the sharing of good practice between academic and student experience teams. 

- Student Council - offers an opportunity for student representatives from all Study Group colleges to comment on their experience

I am Rahaf and I came from Dubai. Iam running for student council because I simply need this kind of experience as a socially interactive person and as someone who spent her whole life with lots of different cultures other than her own making her know how to respect and appreciate individuals coming from all over the world. I am not perfect in this, but I would love to give my time to listen to each and everyone's thoughts and opinions and problems and help make everyone comfortable with their membership in this university. I believe that a good leader is a person who acts as one of the team and truly cares enough to look after our fellow students instead of bossing them around or sitting back and relaxing. I’ve always been very interested in leadership roles and have also had many leadership experiences throughout 6 years of my junior + senior high school life. The most fun experiences would be my role as a graduation representative and leader of my class grand-tour team. I am an enthusiastic and congenial person who loves helping fellow students and thinking up fun ideas to make school life even more fascinating than it already is.
