I am pretty confused when I was asked for this assessment. However, I have already realized the function of this kind of reflection work. 

First of all, I am not good at communicating with foreigners. The main reason is because sometimes I can't understand them. Sometimes they have some heavy accents or they use some unfamiliar vocabulary. Another point is that this is my first time to talk with foreigners as there is few foreigners in China. The classmate who come from Saudi speak really fast so that I cannot understand what he actually means. It is a small thing but really devastate me as it makes me Inferiority about my English level. Another classmate who come from Sudan pronounce the English in different accents from me which also defeat me. For Chinese student in UK like me always have a problem that should we leave the Chinese friends to communicate with English speakers. As we know, there are a large number of Chinese student and restaurants in the UK. It means that Chinese student could use Chinese in the use except the class. I realized it is a bad thing for international student but I tend to do this sometime. At the first tutorial, Ebru told me it will be fine if I need to talk to them more and encouraged me to keep sitting near to foreigner. In this process, I recognized that it is not difficult to communicate with them. All I need is confident. 

The second problem is the literature. My major is finance and economics this is related to the mathematic. When I was asked to write some essay or assessment, it is always necessary to read number of literatures. In the literatures, I always confused with some professional word in some econometrics equation or difficult sentence pattern. So, it takes me long time and effort to deal with that. However, hardworking may not return me a good marks as other students may not have the same problem with me. In class when I was asked to skim an article, I always read every single word as I can understand the meaning if I am doing skimming.

In order deal with these problems, I asked the seniors for help. I got a lot of good advice. For example, when the first econometrics exam was taken, the seniors suggested that I need to understand the meaning behind the mathematical formula and give me some guidance. So I got a good score for the measurement exam. Before that, I reviewed for whole week with the seniors in the library. This process has been very fulfilling. I also learned a part of the learning method of the seniors. This will have a great effect on my future study. In English, the seniors told me that the best way to learn is to communicate with foreigners. This is exactly the same as what ebru told me. The senior told me that if you don't understand others’ saying, you should ask them for help. If someone else doesn't understand you, then you should talk to him more. Because it is possible that they are not used to your accent. In the process, I learned to communicate with foreigners with confidence. More importantly, I have made many good friends. This is very exciting for me. Because having friends of all kinds of skin colors is a very wonderful thing for the Chinese.

In addition, it is significant that I write down every time I met some problems. It makes me very aware of my own shortcomings. It will urge me to solve these problems like a person. In the process of solving these problems, I will have the same pleasure to when I answer the math questions. This makes me very happy and I am willing to keep it.
