         <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout this lab, I learned that, from the hypertonic solution, the potato lost mass. This was because there were more solutes around the potato than inside of it. If the potatoes gained mass, it signified that they were in a hypotonic solution.&nbsp;<br>As for the elodea leaf lab, we found that leaves in the saltwater went through plasmolysis, in which the chloroplasts were pulled away from the leaf's cell walls due to water loss which, consequently, caused the leaves to shrink.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We took two elodea plant leaves and immersed them in different solutions, one in freshwater and the other in saltwater.<br>In freshwater, the elodea leaves go through a hypotonic reaction, which pushes the chloroplasts toward the cell walls. In saltwater, the chloroplasts were grouped in the middle of the cells because the central vacuole was drained of water, which is a result of plasmolysis.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cells utilize osmosis to reach a state of equilibrium or homeostasis. I think our data was accurate, reliable, and consistent. If I were to further continue experimenting, I would try different solutions to see how one subject reacts to different surroundings or different kinds of subjects, so as to see how different kinds of cell walls respond to the same solution.</div>]]></description>
