This book is a classic murder mystery, similar in style to Agatha Christy and Ellis Peters. Flavia de Luce is a clever 11 year old who loves chemistry, and especially poisons. When a strange clue in the form of a dead bird with a skewered stamp is left on the doorstep, Flavia knows there's something strange going on. When she finds a dead body in the garden, there's a murder to solve! I highly recommend this book and the entire series if you like British murder mysteries.

Review by: George Faville
This book is the sci-fi book to rule all sci-fi books. In a far off year an alien race has attacked Earth, and brought humans to near extinction. Now it is up to man kind to strike, before the buggers can. I would recommend this book to the lovers of the science fiction genre. This book has some interesting plot twists, intense character development, and a great plot to keep readers interested. Overall I would recommend this book to all readers of fantasy, and I give this book that stood against the test of time, a ten out of ten.

Frontlines is an alternative history book series. Frontlines is the first book in the series and the only one to be released so far. Frontlines was released by Michael Grant, the author of The Gone Series and The BZRK Trilogy. Frontlines ponders what might have happened in World War 2 if female soldiers were allowed to serve on the Frontlines. They use The Battle of Kasserine Pass, which was a Nazi victory in North Africa, as an example of the impact of female soldiers and increased numbers. The story follows three different female soldiers, Rio, Frangie, and Rainy. I would give this book a 4.5/5 stars.

Zero Day was a really good suspense book that keeps you wanting to find out what is going to happen next the entire time. Addie Webster was kidnapped when she was only 8 years old, and had not been seen by anyone since. Then one day she mysteriously resurfaces, at the age of 16, and is welcomed home into the White House by the first family, since her father is the president. But, some people think her hapless return was not just up to chance, and that Addie might not be letting on as much as she knows. People who like books filled with mystery and suspense will really like this book.

- Talia

Her family just moved to a new house. This house is divided into separate flats, and her family has one of the flats. Coraline hates her new home. It is old and falling apart. Coraline finds a door in one room that is walled off by bricks. It leads to no where, but one night Coraline finds it opens into a dark hallway and she must find what is at the other end... I loved the book Coraline! It isn't very scary, it is more of a creepy book. It is a short but good book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes creepy things.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children is a fantastic story about 10 peculiar children, and one ymbryne (the leader of them.) The story follows the life of Jacob who has a normal life at home, or so he thinks. When a tragic event happens, it leads to a mystery that Jacob is bound to figure out. Jacob finds out things that he would never believe were possible. This story is about the unthinkable, and really keeps you wanting to read more. I really enjoyed this book, and I would highly reccomend this book for anyone who enjoys mystery and fantasy books.
-Carys

They usually don't get very many guests over the holidays, but when mysterious guests check in, things go missing, tension rises and everyone is a suspect. I felt this book was a little bit boring, and it was hard to read because lacked suspense in some places and I found myself dreading reading it. However, near the end the book got really suspenseful, and filled with twists, and it made me want to just keep reading.
-Olivia

This book was very good. It was about six kids that were taken when they were in kinder garden after a school shooting, and eleven years later, they came back, all but one. Max. Max was taken at the same time but didn't come back with the rest. They don't remember anything that happened in the eleven years that they were gone, but Avery, Max's little sister, isn't buying that whole "memory loss" thing. In this book the characters are constantly evolving, and discovering little memories from their past along the way that might lead to the discovering of their capture. They are remembering things about each other, and their feelings, and the eleven years they were gone. I recommend this book if you like mystery, romance, and suspense. You will fall in love with the characters, and not want to take your eyes off the page.

-Ava Wilson

The Lotus War Trilogy is not for the faint of heart. These books are set in Shima, a sort of steam punk Japan made up of 4 clans united by one Shogun, Yoritomo. The country is ruled by Yoritomo, but behind the scenes the shadowy Lotus Guild pulls the strings. The main character is Yukiko, the daughter of the royal hunter. When they are sent on an impossible task to find a thunder tiger, they lose all hope. But hope is not lost, as is demonstrated by the mysterious Kage, who live in the base of the IIshi mountains. The trilogy in general is 6/5, mostly because of the characters and the plot twists, but the first book is rather slow so I could understand if you did not enjoy it.

What is a biot? A biot is a biological based machine, made of Jellyfish DNA, Spider DNA, Specific Human DNA, and more. It is connected through a mind like to whoever the specific human DNA belonged to. The only people who use biots, or know of its creation, is the group BZRK, led by their shadowy leader, LEAR. The book is filed with a great cast of characters and a never ending series of plot twists, lies, and greed. What is so powerful about biots, and their enemies, nanobots, is that you can use them to connect images in the brain to one another. Like an image of the person you love and a memory of seeing murder on the TV. That could cause you to kill the person you love. The people who control nanobots want universal happiness through linking images together, but you would have no free will. BZRK is trying to stop them. But the price is high for those who use biots, and if you lose one, you lose your mind. I give this book a 4.9/5, for creative ideas, though the only downside was that there were few biot battles.

This book is the most bad and good book I have ever read. At the same time as I am thinking about how exciting this scene is, I am also thinking about how stupid the character was to get into this situation. The book series was made up of misunderstandings yet created a clear picture and description of the world inside of the book. The seven realms really came alive under Cinda Williams Chima's powerful writing style. The characters are lacklaster at best and very cliche, yet you find yourself attached to them. Though the one thing I can agree on is that the plot is great. Part of me wants to give this book a 5/5, and another part of me wants to give this book a 1/5.
