I remember visiting several different libraries during the summers. I also had a very large bookcase of my own that was filled with books that we read from nightly. In fact, instead of playing teacher when I was little, I played librarian. I had homemade pockets and library cards in each of my books and checked them out to my dolls. I became involved in the drill team and I did not make time for reading. I started as a math teacher, but then moved to a self contained classroom. In this classroom, I started to love teaching reading. I realized that books were an integral part of learning to read. I read to my classroom daily. Because I am an elementary librarian, I haven't participated in any student-oriented social networks, but I did have to start a blog for the Children's lit class.
