The fight was between USA, who supported capitalism, and USSR, who supported communism. USA was afraid that USSR will destroy the democratic and capitalist system, while USSR was afraid that USA will dominate Europe and destroy the Soviet system. 
- Germany was divided into 2 parts, East and West, and the former capital was also divided into 2 parts. The Soviets tried to block the way to West Berlin but was stopped by Berlin Airlift.
