BREAKING NEWS: Mount Tambora eruption
On April 5th 1815, Mount Tamboura erupted killing at least 10,000 people on the spot and 90,000 people due to the evasive heat and toxins. The eruption destroyed the homes of over 35,000 people located on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia. Some volcanologists say the eruption was one of the most destructive volcanos the world has ever faced. Before the eruption Mount Tamboura was about 14,000 feet and after, was 9,354 and left a caldera spamming approximately 3.7 miles.

The eruption left Indonesia with sudden changes to climate emitting 60 to 80 megatons of SO2 into the stratosphere. This not only affected the climate in Indonesia to be irregular but also around the world for more than three years.

Due to the colder temperatures, the year of 1816 became known as the "year without summer" leading to high food prices and an extreme lack of food.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLLLCnIpO7M
