I would nominate Jane Addams because she was a peace activist and a leader of the settlement house movement in America. She rejected marriage and motherhood in favor of a lifetime commitment to the poor and social reform. She was appointed to Chicago’s Board of Education in 1905 and helped found the Chicago school of Civics and Philanthropy before becoming the first female president of the National Conference of Charities and Corrections.

Jane Addams because instead of settling down for marriage and a child she continued to be dedicated to the poor. Another reason is because she encouraged other women to help use their voice for the fight for reform. Lastly, she was the main influence for settlement houses all around.

I chose her over others because she is very intelligent and tried to make a good change. Lastly, she did many things for our country and was a major part of a big movement.

He was born on a plantation in a slave hut, and by the end of the 19th century, was an advisor for both William Howard Taft and Teddy Roosevelt.

Margaret Sanger was a strong woman's activist, she mainly focused in woman's right into birth control. In 1916 she opened her first clinic. She was also a sex education pioneer, one of the first women to ever cover these sensitive topics. Sanger also had to withstand many controversy, she has been highly criticized for association. Those are just some couple reasons why Margaret Sanger is the Activists Hall of Fame that I have chosen.

I would like to nominate Margaret Sanger to be in the Activists Hall of Fame because she took a stand to let women have a right if they would like to use birth control as well as even opening the first birth control clinic. Sanger started her campaign to educate women about sex by writing a newspaper column called "What Every Girl Should Know." and she worked as a nurse on the Lower East Side, at the time a poor immigrant neighborhood.

I believe WEB DuBois should be elected into the Muckraker hall of fame because he fought for equality among African and white Americans. He also fought for women's right and equality during this time. He was a co founder of the National Association of colored people as well as a reformer who fought for women's rights and African American rights. He also lived the longest of all these muckrakers. This is why I believe that WEB DuBois should be elected into the muckraker hall of fame.
