Sara Fortis was born in a town near Athens, Greece in 1927. Her father passed away when she was very young but nonetheless she and her sister lived a happy Jewish childhood. That was, until the Nazis arrived in her town. They'd heard about the Nazis deporting Jews of other nearby towns. Before it was too late, She and her mother fled to Kuturla.

When Sara was looking for a new hiding place, she was given an opportunity of a lifetime- To become an andarte. Her acceptance came with a catch, though. Sara insisted that she have permission to recruit other females and form their own unit, because she, too, wanted to be an important part of the group. Her desires were met.

Soon, Sara Fortis' unit of female fighters became an absolute nessecity to the group, but even with so much respect Fortis still worried about the girls' safety- Not just in fights, but when they're asleep, forced to sleep next to the male partisans.

Despite her unit getting enough recognition, Fortis became a respected person in Greece's andartes movement. She was known as Captain Sarika by age 18 and became very well-known. So well-known, in fact, that the Nazis sent an informer to capture her, but they mistakenly arrested her cousin, Medi, and assaulted and murdered her. Sara could never forgive them and wanted revenge, so she found and killed the informer.

Luckily enough, her amazing reputation got her a one-way ticket to freedom and later emigrated to Israel. There, she met her husband and settled down for good.
