PAEP receives funding from a variety of sources, including state, county and local community high schools to support the services that are provided.]]> 2016-06-29 19:19:18 UTC https://padlet.com/spuccini35/r6ufgnfljxcp/wish/115695226 REVIEW OF AGENCY spuccini35 https://padlet.com/spuccini35/r6ufgnfljxcp/wish/116025919 I would HIGHLY recommend affiliating yourself with Parents Alliance out of DuPage County.  Right away you will feel their passion and energy in helping people with disabilities secure competitive employment to live as independently as they are uniquely able.  Their philosophy that all individuals can work is resonated as they work diligently for each person one-on-one to secure employment whether they need a supported environment or not.  The staff works on soft skills (i.e. positive attitude, attire, handshaking, eye contact, work ethic and punctuality) and hard skills (i.e. counting, folding, wiping, knots, and packaging) dependent on the exact job.

Once an adult with disabilities is referred to them (must have an open Development for Rehabilitation Services case file) they do an extensive in-take assessment that will include such items as:  getting to know the person, their disability, strengths, weaknesses, interests and possible limitations.  Parents Alliance staff wants to make this process seamless for the person with disabilities and be absolutely comfortable with the agency and all of the resources that can benefit them in securing employment.  The agency is located and within Illinois WorkNet Center for DuPage County.  Therefore, Parents Alliance is a division of Illinois WorkNet Center to assist adults with disabilities to find and secure competitive employment.  They work collaboratively with Illinois WorkNet Center for DuPage County to assist individuals to secure competitive employment within their communities.  I was highly impressed with Parents Alliance and their drive in working with adults with disabilities to obtain a job and be self-sufficient in the end overall.
