The reason why the authorities thought at first that it was her was because she was way to calm considering what happened to her parents. Also, she kept contradicting herself. More over, she had a reason to kill her stepmother. Her father signed over some property to her stepmother’s sister that Lizzie and her sister, Emma, believed was rightfully theirs. Despite that, she was capable to account for everything she did the morning before the murder. When she went to court on June 5th, 1892, she was proven not guilty by the jury in about an hour. Lizzie told the truth to her sister about who killed her parents (if it was her or someone else). Despite everyone trying to make her tell the truth over to the authorities on her death bed, Emma decided to die with the secret.]]> 2018-10-15 00:23:41 UTC https://padlet.com/maryem_o/r6s7alomeyt3/wish/292618131 maryem_o https://padlet.com/maryem_o/r6s7alomeyt3/wish/292621565 What first happens in the beginning of part 3 is we read Steve’s reaction to Bobo’s arrest and the discovery of the robbery from the authorities. He is strangely surprised and chocked about it. A few minutes later, two detectives (Karyl and Williams) come to arrest him. Mrs.Harmon (Steve’s mom) and Jerry (Steve’s brother) are very confused about what was going on. We learn later in the book for certain the the gun used for the killing of Mr. Nesbitt was in fact his. We also read a very detailed representation of the crime scene after the robbery happened. More over, a few pages later, Mr.Moody, the doctor who examined Nesbitt’s body, testifies that Mr.Nestbitt died drowning in his own blood. 
We read that Steve is “second guessing himself”, meaning that he doesn’t know if he really is part of the robbery or not. On July 12th, we read Steve’s view of the real world form jail. He also says that he needs the movie more and more. 
On Monday, July 13th, we read Lorelle Henry’s testimony as a witness to the robbery. She testifies that two people walked in the drugstore, one of them being King, and Nesbitt and him started fighting. 
After her, Bobo takes the stand. He testifies that him and King were waiting the day of the robbery in front of the drugstore for Steve to give the “all clear” signal about if there were cops in the store, despite the fact that he didn’t actually didn’t know if Steve really was part of the robbery or not, never having talked to him before. Him not saying anything, they went in. While he was stealing some money, King started fighting with Nestbitt and ended up killing him with the gun. They left a little later with all the money from the cash register (which they used to buy some chicken) and some cigarettes. 
Finally, he testifies that he would never let anyone be part of a robbery unless they absolutely wanted to, because you can’t trust anyone who doesn’t want to be part of it, AKA Osvaldo.
