I think the most popular art form and the best way for people to convey their feelings is through music. To me, music is the most personal and abstract art form. It is the art that is closest to me. The genre of music that connects to me the most is OPM. The diversity of OPM is unmatched from the trap singles of Al James to the soothing folk albums of Ben & Ben. These music genres cater to whatever feelings I feel, or what I want to express. Whenever I'm listening to Flow G's erratic rap verses, I imagine walking in to crowd of people wearing the most ridiculous outfits and not giving a single drop of care to the people around me. Whenever I feel sad, I just search up December Avenue on Spotify - it gives me comfort knowing that people have experienced whatever sad song they are playing; it reminds me that I am not alone. OPM represents a checkpoint in my life, It holds so many precious memories. Whenever I see changes in my life, the music is always there, and I would never trade it for anything in the world.

Hello, my name is Jomari Q. Celis. I am a second-year student studying EMC. For me, Philippine Pop culture is valuable because it represents the identity of the Filipino people. By studying PPOP culture we get a glimpse of the Filipino values, behaviors, as well as the interests of the Filipinos. The 5 PPOP cultures that piqued my interest are OPM, FILIPINO MOVIES, FILIPINO TV, FILIPINO SLANG, and FILIPINO CUISINE.

The Uses and Gratifications Theory can be used to examine the significant influence of Philippine pop culture. This theory concentrates on how people actively choose media content to fulfill particular wants and interests as opposed to informationally digesting it passively. OPM is a vehicle for expressing emotions and meeting needs on an individual basis.

The strong emotional bond I have with OPM is its capacity to arouse strong feelings and recollections. It is clear from examining this within the framework of the Uses and Gratifications Theory that OPM serves me, and fellow OPM enjoyers, in a number of important ways. First of all, it provides a means of emotional expression and catharsis. OPM's diverse genres—from calming folk to rap—meet people's emotional needs and give them a way to express their emotions, whether they feel the need for consolation in difficult times or the need for self-expression. This illustrates how people use OPM, a part of Contemporary Philippine Pop Culture, to meet their emotional and expressive needs.

Secondly, OPM represents a constant presence in the individual's life, serving as a checkpoint and a source of comfort during life changes. This suggests that OPM, as an element of Contemporary Philippine Pop Culture, becomes a reliable and enduring part of one's life, demonstrating its ability to shape and influence personal experiences and memories. In this way, the Uses and Gratifications Theory helps explain how OPM, through its diversity and emotional resonance, not only reflects but actively contributes to the personal and emotional growth of individuals.
