the informations I received from last week lecture connected to what I already knew because we also did a lot of research during the past classes with our professor, about new learning environments, how school should be seen by students and organizations, some key words that I already used such as OPEN, INTEGRATED, FLEXIBLE AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL were already in my mind.

The idea of the environment in which you are in directly affects your performance/ ability to learn.

there shouldn't be any separation between the designers and the users. learning doesn't take place ONLY in classroom. learning doesn't take place at CERTAIN times, but in many different moments. learning IS NOT the result of individual activity. also some aspects about the classroom , and how thy effect the students' experience : TEMPERATURE, AIR QUALITY, LIGHT AND SOUND.

Furniture plays a big role in the whole education process; Even if it is modern and up to newer standarts it doesn't mean that it is the right funtiture for this environment. It has to be well thought out and planned what will actually benefit the process and not only what is new on the market.

By creating a 'learning environment' in which one can use an open space in order to carry out school activities, I wonder if there will be an issue for some students to focus, as I imagine that if many activities are being carried out at the same time, there might be a probability for some to become distracted.

It would be interesting to find a design solution to this possibility while still keeping the open learning environment concept as it is.

One thing that definitely confirmed my beliefs was the need of discipline, the case study about removing completely the class in Stockholm and the negative outcome made me realize how discipline is needed. Although in other cases I’ve learnt how being flexible has a fundamental role into a person education, so the balance between the two is important. Those informations really helped me to consider a lot of different aspects that fall under the idea of school

At first, one biggest challenges i think should be scaping from the traditional way of learning, adapting to what already exists yes but also trying to connect more with the users, in this case the students. I left with the question of even asking myself, what would I have like to be surrounded by in my daily learning space, as a student myself.

I would like to understand better the fine line between discipline of a school and it turning into rigidity for the students. I want to understand how to strike the balance between the flexibility of the kids while instilling certain values that extend beyond the boundary of activities of school.
