I really connected to Music as a language.   
 Victor Wooten - Ted talk (Wooten, V 2013) as it really made me reflect on my practice as in my practice music is used in routine to break up the day but also, I always felt it was a way for the children to learn speech, language, different cultures and a different form of communicating. By me using music as a form of routine I am reflecting am I taking the children's musical freedom as a way of expressing themselves.
The Dadirri Video and Article really gave me a more understanding of aboriginal culture and how important it is and how listening is so important, I love the quote "If our culture is alive, strong and respected it will grow." (Ungunmerr M.R, 2017)

I also found in the video that sounds will never be heard the same over and over again but also people hear sounds differently. Although I struggled to understand I enjoyed knowing and learning about Parallaxis which is an exploration of resonance and possibility within the landscape of the everyday. It is an experiment in calibrating our senses to more subtle frequencies; a quest for cracks and shadows that transform the known into the unknown. Ultimately it is a conversation with the places that we are continuously creating — and that are continuously creating us.

I found the "With one Voice" Group was wonderful and a great way to bring people together from diversity, disabilities and culture. They sounded so beautifully and really shows that music can bring everyone together. This made me feel connected to nature and hear music in an aboriginal perspective of land, place, nature and deep listening. 
I also enjoyed the seeds activity where Jodie reenacted the seed becoming a tree, I felt was a great teaching tool for children and even us as educators and future ECT that it doesn't have to be researched or discussion you can teach children through movement, music and drama. This helped me with coming up with my experience for the children. 
CHILDREN, CREATIVE PLAY AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT was an amazing read as it opened my eyes to how my own phobias could be affected my children on really experiencing the benefits of nature and I defiantly do not want to be the teacher or mother that has their children being a part of the 95 percent of children spending time indoors mainly as I learnt in the article so many benefits of nature play.]]> 2023-03-10 03:04:49 UTC https://padlet.com/s_sell2011/r6m0wdy6y8n72fo0/wish/2511244107 s_sell2011 https://padlet.com/s_sell2011/r6m0wdy6y8n72fo0/wish/2511253466 I really connected to "The Atelier" video and how learning wasn't restricted by time or space and that it's direct course of learning is through children's own projects not from us as educators making the meaningful experiences for the children. Made me reflect on our Montessori Method practice. Are we allowing children those opportunities yes, we allow children to know mistakes happen but there is only a right way of doing things but in doing that are we allowing the children the freedom to explore?
