This shows that Valjean is loyal to his friends and no matter what he is going to save them. He even payed the thenardiers to let them pass because he was losing a lot of blood.   Jean Valjean shows a loyal theme because he could leave marius there and save himself.

This shows the love that Cosette and Marius have. No matter what they tried and achieved to be together, Even having Eponine in the middle Marius ditched her and stayed with Cossette. This can also show loyalty MArius to Cosette

Here Jean is telling the truth that he did bad things. Marius did not believe him but Jean insist about his acts.  This shows that Jean is acting good and it is very honest.

This shows how Marius really loves Cosette. This also shows that Marius no matter what he will always love her. Cosette has a good man but she doesn't know that Marius talked with Jean
