In  the summer of 2017 Cummins, partnering with Columbus Indiana, announced their intent to invest in  two improvement projects totaling $80 million. 

There are over 407 different jobs available at the Cummins Columbus headquarters. This jobs are often offered to people within the community and help strengthen Columbus’ economy and growth. 

Along with offering jobs to the Columbus community Cummins also has a large part in offering jobs to military veterans as well.

Since then , Cummins has been working to establish partnerships with many companies including Dongfeng Motor in China. 

China is currently  the fastest growing overseas market for Cummins, in 2006 alone they made over 1 billion USD from their partnership with Cummins. 

Cummins currently has more than 10 regional service centers in China, as well as 230 authorized distribution centers.

Chinese is a valuable business language to know. In 2017 the US imported $506 Billion  worth of goods from Chinese companies. 

Knowing Chinese can give you an edge when applying for jobs with companies, like Cummins, that have a strong business s tie with China.  Having proof of fluency or high proficiency in Chinese can help you stand out during job interviews as well as highlighting a skill that is valuable to the company.
