A domed ceiling is a round, vaulted ceiling that is shaped like a half-sphere or a hemisphere. It is often found in churches, temples, and other places of worship. Unlike a flat ceiling, the arch of the dome rises up from the walls to form a full circle in the middle instead of just the edge or corners of the room. The walls may also be decorated with images or other decorations to add to the overall atmosphere of the space.
