1. What is your hometown like?

My hometown is Inconfidentes, a small and peaceful city in the south of Minas Gerais. It’s a calm place with a strong sense of community, where people know each other and life feels simple and welcoming. The city has a cozy atmosphere and beautiful natural views, which makes it a great place to grow up and enjoy moments outdoors.

2. What is your family’s hometown like?

Although I was born in Inconfidentes, my family and I now live in Varginha. It’s a larger and more developed city, known for its famous UFO legend, which attracts curious visitors from different places. Varginha has nice squares, good places to hang out with friends, and a relaxed lifestyle that makes it a comfortable place to live.

3. What is the most beautiful city you have ever visited? And in Minas Gerais? Why? What makes it so beautiful?

The most beautiful city I have ever visited is João Pessoa. I was impressed by its stunning coastline, with clean beaches, natural pools, and warm, crystal-blue water. The city has an amazing mix of history, culture, and breathtaking sunsets, especially at Praia do Jacaré. Everything there feels peaceful, colorful, and full of life.
In Minas Gerais, the most beautiful city I’ve visited is Monte Verde. It has a charming mountain climate, cozy chalets, and beautiful viewpoints surrounded by nature. What makes Monte Verde so special is the combination of fresh air, great food, and the feeling of being close to nature.

4. What city would you like to visit most? And in Minas Gerais? Why?

The city I would like to visit most is London, because my cousin lives there and I find the city extremely fascinating. I would love to experience its history, visit places like the Big Ben and the London Eye, and see how life is in such a modern and multicultural city.
In Minas Gerais, a place I would like to visit is Tiradentes. It looks very charming, with its colonial architecture, old streets, traditional restaurants, and cultural events. I think it would be a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the state while enjoying a beautiful and peaceful environment.

5. What is your favorite place in Minas Gerais and why?

My favorite place in Minas Gerais is Capitólio, because of its wonderful landscapes and lakes. The canyons, waterfalls, and boat trips make it a perfect place to relax and have fun. The nature there is unique, and the views are unforgettable, which makes the city one of the best destinations in the whole state.

Inconfidentes, my hometown in Minas Gerais, is widely known for its strong artisanal tradition, especially crochet and handmade lace. The city hosts the Festival do Crochê, an event that celebrates local craftsmanship and attracts visitors, students, and artisans from different regions. Walking through the city, you can find several small shops and talented craftsmen who keep this cultural identity alive.

Inconfidentes is also home to IF-SUL-DE-MINAS – Campus Inconfidentes, which is an important educational reference in the area and brings development, culture, and opportunities for the local community. With its peaceful environment, beautiful rural landscapes, and unique handmade art, Inconfidentes stands out as a charming destination for those who want to experience tradition, creativity, and a welcoming lifestyle.

✅ Attractions and Culture:

Our most unique attractions are connected to the rich crochet tradition that made Inconfidentes famous. The city hosts the annual Festival do Crochê, where artisans display handmade pieces, clothes, décor, and traditional lacework. Local craft shops also keep this cultural identity alive, and the IFSULDEMINAS campus is another important landmark, promoting education, innovation, and community events. The city’s peaceful streets, cozy squares, and countryside views make it a charming cultural destination.

✅ Climate and Nature:

Inconfidentes has a pleasant climate with warm days and cooler nights, typical of southern Minas Gerais. The city is surrounded by green hills, farms, and beautiful rural landscapes that are perfect for relaxing walks, photography, or simply enjoying nature. The calm environment and scenic roads make the region ideal for cycling and small countryside trips.

✅ Gastronomy:

As a true “Mineira” town, Inconfidentes is full of amazing homemade food. Visitors can taste pão de queijo, doce de leite, feijão tropeiro, and traditional dishes cooked on a wood stove. Local cafés and bakeries offer delicious treats, making gastronomy one of the best parts of visiting the region.
