Maria writes a letter to malvolio she tells writes it as if she is olivia and how she loves malvolio. And viola/cesario dresses as a boy so she could  be more with the man she loves the count orsino. These lies are also the same because  Maria diguises herself  as olivia and viola diguises herself as cesario. These two lies are different because maria does it to create comedy for she, sir _toby, sir andrew, fool and fabian. You can see this in the text when she says "it's going to be fun i promise. I know my medicine will work on him" this tells the audience that it is all a prank. But violas lie is very serious because this the man she realy loves and is so desparete to be with him. This you can see in the text when she says "following the one I love more than my eyes or my life "when she runs after count orsino at the end of the play.
