My name is Rayme Bergman, and I am 24 (almost 25) years old. My Bachelor's degree is in Biological Sciences with a teacher licensure and middle school endorsement. I have taught for a year and a half, so I am still a baby teacher. I took a job teaching high school sciences (biology, environmental science, and introduction to chemistry and physics) for a safe school program, which is similar to alternative schooling, before I ever finished student teaching. Multiple instances of unsafe behavior is a requirement to be placed in that setting. I chose that position because I have been on my own since I was 16 and could relate to those kids. Unfortunately, the school was 45 minutes away from my home, so I took a job teaching 7th grade science at a local title 1 middle school for the upcoming school year. I love teaching that age group though, so I am looking forward to that adventure!

In my personal life, I use technology daily. I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook Air that are all connected. I use my calendar, iMessage, Notes, social media, and other apps interchangeably through those devices. Since the pandemic began, I have also been using different video chatting softwares to keep in touch with others like Snapchat, Zoom, Houseparty, FaceTime, and Google Duo. I also use technology daily for work. My work usage ranges from simple tasks like checking emails and inputting grades to online Phet labs and interactive notebooks on Google Slides.
