Frank Blaichman was born in kamionka, Poland on December 11, 1922. His village was takin over by nazi forces, he left his six siblings and went into the forest. His camp in the forest was attacked and eighty out of a hundred and two people didn’t make it, but Frank Blaichman was one of the survivors. He and what was left of the survivors stayed with local farmers. During early 1943 Frank’s group joined forces with another group and their numbers quickly grew to be over sixty men and women. His new found group worked with communist Jews for food, ammunition and guns. They would often ambush patrols and destroy German factories until the Germans surrendered on may 7,1945.

“I’m very proud of what I did all those years,” he says. “The reality was we had nothing to lose, and our way to survive was to fight.”
