I use to go to school, eat, play volleyball, and do crafts.

My favorite food has always been burgers, but that has changed to sushi and seafood. 

I work since I am 13 years old, I use to help my mom in her businesses that normally had to be with communications before wifi became something popular and commonly used. Then I started my own business doing headbands for babies, and floral crowns and bracelets for adults. Something I stop doing 2 years ago when I came to Miami beacuse the time is needed to find jobs that are more profitable in a faster time. And I am currently managing Airbnbs and I like it. 

The most important thing to me is having good health. And another is to try to be the best version of my self everyday, be humble as much as I can. 

My hobbies are painting, rollerblading, and playing volleyball. 

I love living in Miami, however I have always dream about Europe and I have a dreamed trip of going solo travel that I plan on doing this year.

I love dancing salsa and bachata, I am better at bachata but currently learning salsa when I go to Cuba 8 museum in Miami, they have free dancing nights on Thursdays and Sundays.

I define success as being happy with what you have, as long as you meet the basic necessities such as food, house, and being able to meet basic expenses. My success will be having a some money, but not being rich.

My dream is to have enough to be traveling the world, and being able to go out and eat wherever I want. I do not care about fancy brands for my clothes, or purses etc. I love nature, and I hope to one day get to discover the nature from all countries!

Something unique that I feel confortable sharing is that I have struggled all my life with self-esteem, from a very young age, and I would love to help and support anybody that is going through the same situation!! I still deal with it, but lately, it controls me less

What this video is telling to me is that gentrification for Little Haiti/Liberty City residents is something potentially probable to happen, and the areas where they will be inclined to transfer is Homestead. The part I didn't really understood is that in the video they are concerned because in Homestead there is risk flooding when there are natural disasters, this confused me because in many areas of Miami there is this risk, we have seen it repeatedly in Brickell.

I think that it is sad that gentrification occurs but I this is something that is always happening. At the end of the day, investors will get what they want because vulnerable people need the money. And the government is not gonna stop any of the parties from taking that decision. The government is benefited by this type of transactions and development. And if it is not the government regulating, then who else? 

I am happy to see there are people from communities and organizations that want be there to regulate the negative impact that this could produce to the culture and to the citizens, however I hope them the best of the opportunities and luck. Because every time I have seen this scenario government-investors they have always done what they want. We can look at Puerto Rico's example, there is strong gentrification going on there, and there are strong activists working to stop that. But it keeps happening anyway. 

The solution to this problem can only come from the government, with regulations that allow to do business with vulnerable areas like these ones, but generating programs of opportunities for this people to have a good future after they sell their house, this is just an idea. There could be multiple options to create to mitigate the impact for these sellers that could end up gentrificated.

I think that we are very irresponsible as humans with the activities that we are doing on our environment. Most humans do not take care of the space we live in, we use a lot of plastic, some citizens also eat or drink something in the street on in their cars and they will just throw the packages and leftovers anywhere on the beach, street, on the floor, which is disgusting and harmful to our planet earth. 

Not only that, but even humans who throw the garbage ''adequately'' they are also impacting big time the environment if they are using too much plastic or buying clothes in excess that they are never going to use but to storage on their closets and then throw it away. Same thing with appliances, and furniture. People would buy and change constantly their appliances I do not understand why, but the thing is that those batteries cause a lot of damage when they leak on the rivers. That is when the ''leaching'' happens, which the video explained it is the process that happens when all harm chemicals coming from nail polishes, batteries 🪫 etc. start forming a water that combines all toxic substances. 

We have to change the way to consume, and support more the companies that produce with conscious process that helps the earth to be preserved. Videos like this should be shown in every school at all times. So this way humans grow up being aware of the damage that they can prevent.

It is good to see that there is actually renewable energy in the United States. However, the plants are not reaching the capacity that is necessary for the energy that cities need. Therefore, there is a need to build more electricity towers that can provide for this capacity but they are harmful. They can cause fires that are produced when they get in touch with the trees and nature in general. This can be a high risk impact in the environment if it happens. Is a paradigm because we need more of those towers but at the same time they are a high risk, and they also ocuppy a lot of space. The high voltage grid is the only solution that really is the best action to take which is an energy connection that would bring energy from any state in the United States in the west, all the way to the extreme side on the east. This would take a lot of money and it is a very new invention and construction so it has to be studied very well before doing so. 

Goal 2 seeks sustainable solutions to end hunger in all its forms by 2030 and to achieve food security. The aim is to ensure that everyone everywhere has enough good-quality food to lead a healthy life. Achieving this Goal will require better access to food and the widespread promotion of sustainable agriculture. This entails improving the productivity and incomes of small-scale farmers by promoting equal access to land, technology and markets, sustainable food production systems and resilient agricultural practices. It also requires increased investments through international cooperation to bolster the productive capacity of agriculture in developing countries.

The fight against hunger has seen some progress over the past 15 years. Globally, the proportion of undernourished people declined from 15 per cent in 2000-2002 to 11 per cent in 2014-2016. However, more than 790 million people still lack regular access to adequate food. If current trends continue, the zero hunger target will be largely missed by 2030. The persistence of hunger is no longer a matter of food availability. Rather, in many countries that failed to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) hunger target, natural and human-induced disasters or political instability have resulted in food insecurity affecting large swathes of the population. Preliminary estimates from the Food Insecurity Experience Scale—available for about 150 countries in 2014 and 2015—reveal that food insecurity is most prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa. More than half of the adult population in that region faced moderate or severe levels of food insecurity, and one-quarter faced severe levels. Southern Asia had the second highest prevalence: around 25 per cent of adults there experienced moderate or severe food insecurity, and 12 per cent experienced severe levels.

There are different types of Renewable Energy

Renewable energy sources, such as biomass, geothermal resources, sunlight, water, and wind, are natural resources that can be converted into these types of clean, usable energy:

In 2022, solar and wind are expected to add more than 60% of the utility-scale generating capacity to the U.S. power grid (46% from solar, 17% from wind).

The United States is a resource-rich country with abundant renewable energy resources. The amount available is 100 times that of the nation’s annual electricity need.

I choose goal #2 because I feel that I have this mission in this world of contribuiting to people that live with hunger around the world. I dream with a world where technology has allowed us to be independent and sufficient to be able to grow our own food or have easy access to eat in any area of the planet earth. In this goal the idea is that people not only has access to food but to teach them ways to grow sustainable agriculture so that way they are responsible of their own source of goods.

In the beginning, I was very excited because I thought this would be a psychology class. And right before this semester, I had another class that was called the Psychology of personal effectiveness that was life-changing. And then I noticed that these classes were more about science and I thought that it was amazing because I love nature and science for me, it is amazing how nature treats us and gives us resources to survive and have a good life. So it was a very nice surprise to find out that we were covering this kind of topic. I also had an environmental class last semester that also changed my life, and this PSC class was easier to digest to me because I had previously had a close approach to science and the environment. I loved science courses before I engaged in this course, it is blow minding to know how much damage we are doing to the environment and how bad we are treating the natural resources that god and the universe gave to us, I am myself born and raised on a town where I assisted to an environmental school, there were lots of animals around such as cows, goats, ducks, dogs, birds, butterflies, bulls, horses, it was just beautiful! That is one of the best parts of my childhood. So I have always loved nature in my life. I would love to continue to have courses of this type, and I am very grateful and happy that professors like you are taking the time to put this knowledge on us who are the future generations and who need to take immediate action on the way that we are treating our land.  And also what are we gonna do towards a change that allows us to regenerate the resources that we are depleting or at least to create new ways to survive replacing them with other processes? 

During my experience, I felt happy that I was being taught about the staff we saw, especially when we had to do the presentations about why we chose the topic of the 16th goals for a better world, I felt very engaged with what I said because it is part of my life dream. And there is something I would love to see in other courses and that is when professors teach you about Miami and what is going on here, like when we saw the video of Little Haiti and the gentrification that was going on there. I feel like education is about that, is about knowing what is happening in our surroundings and critically thinking about how we can look for ways to explore and take care of the problems happening. 

 After, I am happy very happy to be a bit more expert about which is the type of energy used in the United States, and that there is a plan very expensive to at some point convert all the energy used with solar panels, to know that every single type of energy occupies different space and different resources to make it work. I am very grateful to have all this knowledge now because I am more interested in what is happening out there and when I get a job I will feel confident about the world's problems and have a better judgment of any topic in my everyday conversations. 

I conclude from my experience that every professor should take the time to put this knowledge to their students and make them more aware of what is going on in the world, I feel we become better people by having these concepts clear because teenagers and college students are normally giving more time to their social media and our brains have too many information that is not useful, we need information like this one to be able to think and generates questions that really help our environment and our planet before is too late. Courses like this one can cause that effect of questioning ourselves and questioning if we really need to put attention to what people think about us instead of how can we be better people and help the world that really needs us, and with the world, I refer to the land but very important as well, we humans, we need help, and we gotta helps each other, but for that, we need to find again our humanity and our values to be able to help the rest that is so immersed in their phones and trivial issues that don't have any value.
