         <description><![CDATA[<p>Germany was founded in 1871. The Prime Minister Otto von Bismark  when he took over the surrounding territory to create Germany. He created Germany because he wanted the surrounding territorie. All the surrounding territories had similar cultures and same languages to unify. This act  created present-day Germany. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The German Empire was founded on January 18, 1871. After 3 separate wars from 1864 to 1871. The empire was forged by the agreement of the leaders of the states in the North of Germany. Germany was the dominant force in the nation until the empire's demise. Germany's downfall was at the end of another war in 1918.</p>]]></description>

When Napoleon invaded Portugal, the Portuguese prince took refuge in Brazil, making it the only colony to serve as the seat of government for the mother nation. The British fleet arrived at Rio de Janeiro and attacked. Dom Pedro was crowned emperor. Pedro announced independence on September 7, 1822.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Portugal was first ruled by the British until independence. The people and the liberal revolution of 1820 captured major cities. The emperor was about to leave and then Jose convinced him to stay in which he did. Even after the emperor declared independence, some were still loyal to the Portuguese and Portugal sent their navy fleet to attack. But, the emperor sent troops from Britain to help and blockade making Portugal retreat and surrender to make peace among them .</p>]]></description>
