A "major power on the border between the Maya highlands and lowlands." There was temples which they had religious ceremonies at the top. Temples had been shaped like mountains and they were allowed to "approach" the gods. To be able to farm better they had flat terraces. The Mayan buildings had stucco and were painted using bright colors.

Tikal is a city but it is completely made of rock but also has grass. This city seems to be made mainly out of rock but using the rock they have created a large city. They must've used of bricks or rock because the steps and the buildings look big. As time has passed these buildings have changed the look a bit telling by the damage.

Using the map given Chichen Itza is toured my many people. Comparing these buildings to the city of Tikal it seems there is not much damage at all in Chichen Itza. Looking closely I can tell it would've taken them some time for them to make very detailed patterns on the building. Along the sides of the building I found very nice and unique designs.

In Copan their pyramids are seen as symbols of mountains. This city is a very artistic city with carvings and more. They traded jade, obsidian, and additional items which increased the population in Maya to 28,000. The website, http://maya.nmai.si.edu/the-maya/maya-world, states, "For many centuries, Copán dominated the nearby ancient Maya city of Quiriguá in present-day Guatemala, and their histories are deeply intertwined. Quiriguá was a strong producer of jade, and Copán was its acknowledged mentor and ally." This information is very important and was provided by the website. I think this is important because it shows how powerful this Mayan city was.
