 There aren't much information about amphibians in Chennai but there are 4 types of them in India:

1. Micrixalus Saxicola (Black torrent frog) - Its habitat has been discovered to be living in parts of the forest streams or wet rocks.

2. Nyctibatrachus (Indian Frogs/Night frogs) - Its habitat is in the tropical forests.

3. Bombay night frog (belongs to the family of Nyctibatrachidae) -

Its habitat is in towards the torrential hill streams in tropical areas.

4. Indirana (Indian Frog) -

Its habitat is nearby the tropical forests.

Most of these frogs can be found in parts of India, in the Western Ghats.
