Think - I think the narrator either dislikes or is playfully chatting with "Him", as they compare Him to a Chimpanzee. I think the narrator is either pointing out characteristics of Him that are similar to Chimpanzees or is noting how humans developed from primal mammals, similar to Chimpanzees.

Wonder - I wonder if the title 'Mrs Darwin' has any impact in the poem, as it is only 3 lines long and could hint at who 'Him' is in the poem (Mr Darwin). I also wonder why the author decided to make the last line much longer than the previous 2, and why they added unnecessary words, such as 'over there', that messed up the syllable flow. In my opinion, having 4 lines with "Something about that Chimpanzee" and "reminds me of you" separated and "over there" removed would have made it appear more appealing.

Floating Sweet Dumpling

See - Whenever the narrator describes themself, it contradicts their "powdery white and round" exterior with their "true red heart" (interior). The simile "I sink and bob like a mountain in a pond" could refer to the narrator seeing themself as a big or high-status individual, similar to a dumpling in a small soup base.

Think - I think the poem is a metaphor for abuse in society. Describing their body as "powdery white and round" could be hinting at makeup women use that attracts predators due to their beauty, describing a round face with powdery white makeup. The violence in "The hand that kneads me is hard and rough" could refer to powerless victims in the face of abusers, with their rough and hard hands 'kneading' them. "You can't destroy my true red heart' could be referring to the unbroken will of the victims whereas it could also be the meaty interior of a dumpling.

Wonder - If the underlying meaning is about abuse, I wonder why the author used dumplings to describe it. It may have been a significant part of their culture or they may have just enjoyed dumplings. I wonder if there was an alternate purpose of the poem and if it meant anything else, or maybe it was just describing the process of making a dumpling for its perspective in a sensual manner.

Reflection:

When closely examining arts, both the poems and the painting, I recognised details I would not have noticed if I briefly skimmed through it. I interpreted texts on a deeper level, such as the Floating Sweet Dumpling poem and picked up on small details in the artworks, such as the reversed reflection in the water in the artwork.

The American dream, according to Adams, was about collective moral character: It was a vision of ‘commonweal,’ common well-being, well-being that is held in common and therefore mutually supported.

In DoaS, Willy's persuits and actions reciprocate what Adams decribes as 'The American Dream', focusing on financial success rather than maintaining a stable well-being, which ultimately leads to his death.

While Churchwell suggests that social mobility should include healthy amounts of success and the values of personal growth and morals, Willy Loman views social mobility solely as financial success, with little to no regard for the other aspects.

Lippman's description of the American Dream as an 'endless progress' mirrors Willy's actions in the play, his limited vision of success distorted by individualism eventually lead to his disregard of his commonweal (well-being) as he continuted to chase his altered understanding of the American Dream.

The challenging aspects of this task were communicating with my partner as often times one of us were away during lessons. I overcame this issue by using social medias to contact my partner and we discussed what to do online a lot of the time.

To overcome the ambiguity of the task, we tried to be as specific as possible with our concepts, pointing out individual sentences and phrases in each poem rather than talking about the overall meanings.

• Although Isma has a tight-knit connection with her brother, she does not overly support his decisions to become a terrorist. Ultimately, Isma's loyalty should lie in her brother, however she expresses trust in her country in the story.
