- opportunities are pretty ad-hoc + there’s risk involved that we don’t trust CYP in their work and we don’t have enough capacity to share power. Need to change the mental model to let them try and improve of there on.

- Do we have the confidence or are we in the position to give them the power, who will be accountable if anything happens

- Are we willing to accept blunders while volunteering?

There’s risk when involving youth, who will be responsible for the youth. 

Structure:

Tracking, how we determine contribution. It could be beyond supporting event. Perhaps contribution doesn’t have to be tangible, their thoughts, knowledge, experience could be a form of contribution

- Age restriction could limit their contribution and voice. While that is on Singapore level, can we lower the limit within SCS. but are we ready to hold them accountable when things go south

- Do we have the culture to encourage them to contribute, and whether there’s a recognition or leadership role to continue contributing?

- What would on-going opportunities look like, or are we limited to school holidays in order to contribute

- Are structures in place to allow children and youth who don’t have opportunity.

- What is the pathway to contribution, they don’t need to start during polytechnic 

o   Depends on how the service user is introduced to the SCS

o   Certain service users are introduced to time-limited rehabilitative and remedial services and sometimes both SCS and service users do not want to see them again VS youth centres

o   Close age between cyps and young volunteers

·       Whether staff are considering and eliciting strengths while still supporting the cyps

·       Whether SCS are facilitating opportunities and possibilities for cyps to give back

·       Whether SCS are collaborating between the various centres to link cyps from remedial services to preventive/ positive development
