Today, I feel really more exciting and diffirent from the other days. After a long time, I became a part of educational organization. I realised that I am not alone in this hard way.
Actually , I did not teach writing skill completely. 😔Because my students don't like it. They look like bored and unmotivated during the writing section. So I generally give homework. But today, I realised that I made a mistake. Because writing is the part of language. It is closer to thinking. I learned some web2 tools today, for example padlet. I love it. İt is fun and can be interactive. Because we have an opportunity to add information or comment. However, my students don't have any technological devices to access the İnternet. So, I can't use them in my classroom, maybe later. And then, I learned diffirent approaches. I like the most process writing. İ think process writing is more productive than product approach. Because it gives a chance to make mistake and then correct the mistake. İt is based on learning . Now lets talk about my collegues. Some of them like and use web2 tools in teaching writing thanks to their schools' and students' opportunities. And it can be really good and efficient. The rest of them and I have to find another way. I am sure we can handle it . Because we are together now. 🌸

Diffirent day again...
I am glad to be here. Our topic is listening today. I learned sooo many new applications. And they are applicable in our classroom. This is an important part I think. Some of the applications is not economic for our students. We made some activities today. Some of them are really easy, funny and exciting for teacher and students. For example Someone like me and classroom memory game. They are easily applicable in our classroom. We dont need any special material for them. I like ESL videos also. I am in a trouble with student book's listening part. I am not sure but we can change videos according to our student's level. Sometimes student book can be lower or higher level. So I prefer authentical listening. But it requires high energy and time to try to find perfect listening. Finally, ı learned pre listening activities today. İt is important part because we have to create a background in student's mind. Thus, they can built a bridge listening and meaning.

Glad you enjoyed the demonstrated listening activities - they're learner-centred, personalised and materials-free, you can start planning how will use and whether you need to anticipate any problems and solutions when you try them for the first time.

The topic was speaking today. The most favourite part of the section is ' changing knowledge (I am not sure the name 😅) for me. I think that is a brilliant idea for speaking. Because you have to communicate, your partner must understand you. That is the real communication way, sharing something. I like some of the digitilasation speaking application such as flipgrid... I will use as an extra-curriculum activity in my school.
To be honest, I didn't use pre speaking activity before. 😔 But now, ı believe that is the most important part of speaking. We have to create a background firstly...
In PLC meeting, I suppose ı mostly use warmer activity like parasite and also debate is great idea.

I feel a little bit tired but absolutely it is worth 🤍 I didn't graduate from English Language Teaching. My departman is English Literature. So every single day is passing with a lot of new thing. Yeah, ı know reading, writing etc. But I realise that ı dont know how to teach them. Shame on me 😬 our topic iş reading today. We learned pre, gist, detail, post reading. I infer that we can combine some of skills. For example, Postie, Dear Postie ! I we can write and read. It is a good example to communicate. I can't wait applying it 🦸
Actually, flipping learning is not a good idea for me because of my students. But ı will try it. It might be good 🥳
A bunch of thanks 🌸

I realise that it is good idea keeping diary like this way. When ı go back school, ı can remember easily what we have done here 😌 Today's topic was grammar. To me, Grammar is important. Because English and Turkish come from diffirent language family. So, we have to give structure properly. And we must supply a lot of free exercise. However, my teachers gave us a lot of gramatic structure when I was a student. But they didn't do free exercise in classroom. We learned English like math. So, I still feel insecure about speaking English. I am continuoisly thinking like that ' what will I use now, which tense is suitable, is it passive or active...' that is too much for student. So firstly we have to focus on meaning. And I learned that we always combine skills. If we teach Grammar, we have to support it with speaking etc... Because language's aim is communication, not structure. 🙋

Until this training ,I was continiously trying to find new way to teach sth for my students. I supposed that was the true way. In this year, I felt exhausted and sad. I feel ineffective when I see my students' exam paper. So I decided to come here. Yeah, I am right. Now, I am sure that I didnt know anything :) I have never thought teaching has a chemistry in it.
We started day with a new vocabulary game. It is simple but it has even diffentiation in it. I absolutely try it with my 8th grade. I am going to use it with synonym or anthonym.
We learned some way to learn vocabulary. I mostly use imaging and personal organising way to keep vocab in my mind. And we analysed some exercise in term of receptive and productive. Then, we focus on feedback type like progress, attitute etc.
I will try to use portfolio at least one of my class. Since the beginning of the training, ı have been thought how ı can use these in PLCs. I have an idea now, I learned so many things here. At least I can share some activities with my colleagues. It is the butterfly effect ! O:)

Today and yesterday we talked about assessment. I generally uses in my classes easy assessment method like multiple choice, matching etc. , because I have so many students. But ı will try Traffic Light self assessment way. İt looks like funny. But I am not sure its reliability, and it can cause that some students feel insecure. The important issue I learned today is we have to use right assessment way. I mean that if we assess listening, we can ask question but they must be short answer question. We have to focus on the skill which we assess.
In second session, we learned some basic part of PLC. It is a worldwide activity, and ı think it is working. Thanks to PLC, we can easily collabrate with our collegues in local area. I learned so many things from the other teachers although we work in diffirent cities. I think PLC bases on collabration. And it is going to give a chance to speak English. That means self progression, so it will increase quality of learning English.
Stronger teacher, stronger students, stronger future 🦋
