The level of one's proficiency is directly correlated to how well one can use that ability to deal with new and more complex topics. More specifically in a language learning environment, the concept of proficiency is express as the ability to start new conversations, read intellectual newspapers, and learning new facets of the grammar of language while learning it on the spot.
