Governmental influences the media:

Standard media in Turkey is suffering with serious issues such as media proprietorship. It is intensely thought, patriot talk and self-control is foremost and media are helpless against political forces which are the military, the government and so on. 70% of the media, including national daily papers, radio and TV channels, are possessed by few cross-media bunches and the exercises of these combinations grow to different segments past media, for example, tourism, money, cars, development and managing an account. These combinations are to secure their business advantages, set up unions with real powers with the military, religious groups, government public feeling.

Physical Characteristics:

The European side of Turkey is mostly a series of rolling hills, the land rises into an elevated central plateau which is the Anatolian, and surrounded by high, rugged mountains. Turkey's highest point is Mt. Ararat. Moreover, Along the Black Sea and Mediterranean coastlines the land is lower and quite fertile.

Hareem Al Sultan is a Historical drama Turkish series talks about life during the reign of Suleiman I, and he is known as Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. He was the tenth Emperor-Sultan, and his reign began in 1520, when he was twenty-six years old, continuing until his death in 1566 after forty-six years on the throne.

In the previous era, the maids consider one of the Sultan properties, and it is very wrong to marry one of the maids because they do not have a royal race.

But he fell in love with one of the Christian slave girl so he married and break the law of the Sultans. From this beginning, Sultana Heyam story has begun after she was just a maid and jealousy, machinations, hatred and the competition among them to give their children the rule after Suleiman 1 have started. The series portrays the life of the Sultan Suleiman and the Ottoman Empire, focusing on his personal life inside the palace centers on the relationship between Sultan Süleyman and his Hürrem instead of focusing on pure historical fiction. In addition, Sultan Suleiman is characterized by lawgiver, a poet, a goldsmith and a great conqueror. He was able to build a more powerful, extensive empire than 'Alexander the Great' himself.

You can hear your heart beat as you watch the love between Sultan Suleiman and one of his harems, Alexandra, whom he later named "Hurrem" and broke centuries of tradition for her sake. You'd experience feelings of power, happiness and hatred as you watch Alexandra escalating from slavery to queen; the mutual hatred between her; and Suleiman's second harem and finally her jealousy of his be trusted vizier, Ibrahim Pacha. It's like a love triangle theme drama along with mysterious murders, near death experiences, war campaigns, plotting and endless secrets that keeps getting out of control.

The series includes many different classes of people, rich people such as Sultan Suleiman, his sons and wife’s, poor people such as chefs and Servants and normal people. However, many of other nationalities are shown such Roman, Russians, and Germans. In addition, this TV series is very famous in Turkey; all people loves king Suleiman and his achievements. The series represented turkey itself in very good way despite that wrong events are included such as the misrepresentation of women role and Islam’s red lines.

Problems in Turkey

KURDISH PROBLEM: the government considers that to extend operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has resumed its armed campaign with demands of autonomy along its Iraq and Syria borders, could further alienate the people living in those regions. On the other hand, the PKK is not likely to give up the campaign because of the same reason and wants to bring security forces face to face with civilians in towns, rather than militants in the mountains. If the government cannot find an innovative solution to break the stalemate, the problem is likely to continue in 2016 as well.

PRESIDENCY AND CONSTITUTION: following the 2015 election win, President Tayyip Erdoğan is happy to see that Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has given priority to a shift to a presidential system in Turkey in his Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) work for a new constitution. After Erdoğan has signaled that reconciliation with the social democratic Republican People’s Party (CHP) could speed up the process, the stance of the CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has softened regarding a system change. If such reconciliation takes place, that could decrease the political polarization in the country and be good for economy as well.

POLITICAL: economy in Turkey is in a tense at this time because of last political crisis that happened to the country when the coup happened to overthrow the government of Rejep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish Lira fell 5%, and this is the biggest drop since 2008 but the Turkish prime minister, "Ben Ali Yildirim" assured to the citizens and said our “country's economy is based on solid foundations and rules, and to reassure our citizens to this matter. (Ben Ali Yildirim). However, Turkey currently believes that education will repair everything, so its goal now to develop this area dramatically.

ECONOMY: besides curbed trade routes to its south and east due to serious problems in Syria and Iraq and also with Iran and Egypt, Turkey is likely to suffer from its trade with Russia, especially in tourism and construction sectors, because of the Syria situation. The government could try to close the gap, especially in construction and finance sectors by attracting Gulf capital but that might not be enough. Turkey needs to get more foreign investment but there are security and court independence problems affecting that. A democratic constitution and closer relations with the EU could help the situation.

In a world of increasing globalization, the media has much potential. It has the possibility of spreading information to places where in the past it has been difficult to get diverse views. It has the potential to contribute to democratic processes and influences especially on countries and regimes that are not democratic. On the negative side though, it also has the ability to push the ideas and cultures of more dominant interest.
